Heart retransplantation in children without the use of blood products

Authors report the FIRST case in the WORLD of HEART RETRANSPLANTATION in a 6 year old child without the use of homologous blood (someone else’s blood). The article draws attention the importance of a multidisciplinary planning (surgeon, anesthesiologist, clinic and intensive care doctors) for performing complexes surgeries (like this) without the use of allogeneic blood transfusion (donated blood).
